The purpose of the courses in the First Aid/CPR/AED program is to help participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing and first aid emergencies to know to give immediate care to a suddenly injured or ill person until more advanced medical personnel arrive and take over. The First Aid/CPR/AED program with TRFTA is a classroom (instructor-led) and includes all in-person skills sessions.
Students will be able to:
Describe how to recognize an emergency
Describe how to prioritize care for injuries and sudden illnesses
Describe the purpose of Good Samaritan laws
Recognize the signals of a cardiac emergency
List the causes of cardiac arrest
Demonstrate how to perform CPR
Demonstrate how to care for a person who is choking
Demonstrate how to use an AED
Demonstrate how to control external bleeding
Identify signals of head, neck and spinal injuries
.....and much, much more.
This is the full Adult/Child/Infant - First Aid/CPR/AED certification from the American Red Cross and can be completed 4-5 hours in length. Upon successful completion of this training course, students receive DIRECTLY from the American Red Cross a 2-year certification certificate.
TRFTA has the ability to schedule this course "As-Needed" if you or your organization would like a specific training date.
This course is presented at the TRFTA Training Facility hosted by The Cardinal Center in Marengo, Ohio.
