TRFTA is now offering and presenting the NRA Basic Instructor Development program(s). With this certification, interested individuals will participate in the NRA Instructor Development program giving them the ability to become certified firearms instructor to sign-off on CCW training requirements or work with various social organizations such as Boy Scouts of America of 4H.
TRFTA has found that while each individual instructor credentialing course brings different aspects and lessons, those courses tend to lean more aggressively on more defensive shooting actives. We found these more aggressive courses could be overwhelming to entry-level shooters who are already nervous about picking up a firearm(s).
TRFTA presents instructor level training programs that focus more on traditional entry-level fundamentals and while still giving the ability to build upon those basics should an individual want to advance in their training.
TRFTA provides instructor development courses for all firearm platforms; whether it be semi-auto pistol, muzzle loading firearms, revolver, shotgun or rifle instructor credentialing.
All instructor development courses presented are governed and adhere to all regulations and requirements by the National Rifle Association and recognized throughout the United States and enjoy recognition internationally.
The NRA Instructor courses are specific to the individual firearm platform.
During the instructor development training course the candidate will learn about the NRA training policies and procedures, basic public speaking skills, training methodology, how to use training aids while working together as a team. Additionally candidates will learn about organizing and course formation, building budgets and finally learning how to "teach"
Each instructor candidate will receive the appropriate lesson plans and basic course student packets. You will also participate in Role-playing during the course. The NRA requires that a minimum class size of four candidates, with 10-12 candidates being ideal. Candidates take turns working in teams, actually conducting portions of the course to other candidates who portray basic students.
